A Historic Moment for Canadian Youth Robotics: SolversMind Teams Shine at FIRST World Championship

It’s a milestone achievement for Canadian youth robotics. At the 2025 FIRST World Championship, two teams from SolversMind RoboticsFRC Team Bubbles 10015 and FLL Team Solvers of X&Y—earned international recognition, making Canada proud across both major divisions of FIRST.

Team Bubbles 10015, competing in their rookie season, captured the prestigious Rookie All-Star Award on the world stage—an extraordinary honor that places them among the top new FRC teams globally. Already a triple-award winner in Ontario, Bubbles stood out for their student-led philosophy, advanced technical execution, and deep commitment to outreach and long-term sustainability.

“We started with just an idea and a dream,” said team captain Ryan Zhang. “Now we’ve shown the world what Canadian youth can achieve when given the chance to lead.”

Meanwhile, in the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) division, Solvers of X&Y—a next-generation team continuing a five-year legacy—was named an Innovation Project Award Finalist, one of the highest global honors in FLL. Their creative, research-driven solution was selected from among 160 champion teams for its originality, depth, and real-world impact.

“This is a proud day not just for our teams, but for Canada,” said coach Mr. Dahai Zhang. “We’ve proven that with mentorship, teamwork, and student leadership, young people can reach the very top.”

Together, Team Bubbles and Solvers of X&Y have achieved what few ever do: earning world-level recognition for both FRC and FLL in the same season—demonstrating the strength of student leadership, innovation, and the power of investing in youth.
