Bubbles 10015 Makes History: Rookie All-Star at DCMP, Headed to Worlds
Apr 5, 2025

History has been made. In their very first season, FRC Team Bubbles 10015 has won the coveted Rookie All-Star Award at the Ontario Provincial Championship (DCMP)—securing their place at the 2025 FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas.
From their fearless Week 1 debut in Newmarket to earning the Judge’s Award at Durham College, Bubbles has consistently demonstrated that being new doesn’t mean being unprepared. Their standout performance at DCMP didn’t just confirm their status as Ontario’s top rookie team—it earned them international recognition and a ticket to compete among the world’s best.
“The Rookie All-Star Award is given to a team that shows the makings of a future powerhouse,” noted one judge at the event. “Bubbles 10015 isn’t just promising—they’re already delivering.”
This marks their third official award this season, all earned through a fully student-led model. From robot design and programming to outreach and team strategy, every element was led by students—demonstrating remarkable initiative, collaboration, and technical skill.
“What makes this so special,” said coach Mr. Dahai Zhang, “is that these students built everything from scratch—robot, team culture, and strategy. And now they’re going to Worlds in their very first year.”
Later this April, Bubbles 10015 will represent Canada at the FIRST World Championship, joining elite teams from across the globe in a celebration of robotics, innovation, and youth leadership.
