On May 5, 2025, SolversMind Robotics FRC Team 10015 Bubbles and FIRST LEGO League teams participated in the global Ice Bucket Challenge, joining a worldwide movement to raise awareness and support for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) research and patient support.
As recognized FIRST Robotics Canada Ambassador Teams, SolversMind students understand that representing FIRST goes beyond competition achievements and robot demonstrations.

The Ice Bucket Challenge was another opportunity for SolversMind students to show that successful STEM teams are not only measured by awards.
They are measured by the impact they create.
Why did SolversMind teams participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge?
The FIRST program encourages students to become more than engineers.
It encourages them to become leaders who understand the world around them and use their abilities to help others.
After an incredible 2025 season, where both:
FRC Team 10015 Bubbles achieved international recognition at the FIRST Championship
FLL Team Solvers of X & Y advanced to the FIRST World Festival
SolversMind students wanted to continue sharing the positive spirit of FIRST beyond the competition field.
The Ice Bucket Challenge provided a meaningful opportunity for students from different FIRST levels to come together and support an important cause.
From younger FLL students to high school FRC students, everyone participated in spreading the message:
Small actions can create meaningful impact when communities work together.
The activity also reflected a core FIRST belief:
We are stronger when we support one another.
Through this experience, students learned that leadership is not only about technical achievement.
It is also about empathy, responsibility, and service.
What is the Ice Bucket Challenge?
The Ice Bucket Challenge is a global awareness and fundraising campaign created to support ALS research and patient services.
ALS is a progressive neurological disease that affects nerve cells responsible for muscle movement. The challenge became internationally recognized in 2014 when millions of participants poured ice water over themselves, shared the experience publicly, and encouraged others to participate or donate.
The campaign became one of the most successful social-media-driven charity movements in history, generating significant awareness and funding for ALS research.
Beyond fundraising, the challenge showed how individuals and communities can use creativity and social connection to bring attention to important causes.
